The perfect blend of gross motor skill building and fun! Our preschool martial arts program gives your little one the tools to surpass their development expectations. Students who begin this young in Tae Kwon Do (and just about anything else for that matter) tend to learn longer term. In class there will be an emphasis placed on the physical techniques so that the student’s body can begin growing with the movements. This includes lots of running, jumping, climbing and crawling in order to help use up some of the little ones’ almost-endless supply of energy. The very basics of Tae Kwon Do will be covered in this course, with additions of important outside-aspects for children of this age, such as learning stranger self- defense, fire safety and (lost in the store) mall safety. This is one of the most popular courses due to its ability to keep young children interested,active and engaged! Family Tae Kwon Do (Ages 6 - Adult) Tae Kwon Do is a wonderful activity to practice as a family! Parents will have a great time working out with their children in the same class. Tae Kwon Do has SO many benefits for both children AND adults that it makes it the perfect way to stay fit and have fun TOGETHER. For adults, TKD helps to increase flexibility, relieve stress, strengthen balance and learn life-saving self-defense. In children, TKD helps to improve confidence, increase focus, build stronger physical skills like balance, coordination and agility, in addition to building great goal setting skills. No matter the reason for practicing Tae Kwon Do initially, students of the art benefit physically, mentally and spiritually. Practice Tae Kwon Do together but feel the benefits as an individual! Youth Tae Kwon Do (Ages 6 - 12) Tae Kwon Do is the Korean art of self-defense This art is taught to children to instill self-discipline and promote physical fitness. They will learn new skills every time they train and enjoy a sense of accomplishment,more focus and concentration, respect for authority, and self-defense. Confidence will build after each successful class is completed. This class also includes “mat chats” to help with various life skills such as bully prevention, responsibility, discipline, good manners and habits of a healthy lifestyle among others. Teen/Adult (Ages 13+) No matter the reason for practicing Tae Kwon Do initially, students of the art benefit physically, mentally and spiritually. This class promotes teens and adults to become physically stronger, more flexible, and more agile, as well as increasing a sense of balance. Students will learn traditional aspects of TaeKwonDo as well as modern methods of self-defense. It appeals to both the youth with its fun jumping and spinning kicks, as well as it does to the middle and senior aged adults with its emphasis on technique and self-defense.
