Youth Cross Country RaceSports Leagues & ClinicsThe 2025 Franklin Community Youth Race will be held Wednesday, September 10th open to all children, Kindergarten through 8th Grade. This event is sponsored by the Franklin High School Girls and Boys Cross Country Teams, and Franklin Community Education and Recreation. Where: Forest Park Middle School. Time: 5:30 Girls Race followed by the Boys Race immediately following. Awards will be given for top 2 in each age division. Pre Registration is recommended. Instruction is geared to each individuals ability. This is a 6-week program which consists of: 3 full swing lessons on the range 3 short game lessons including pitching; chipping and putting All lessons will be held at The Sunny Slope Course - 4285 S. Sunnyslope Rd. New Berlin, WI. For weather cancellations, call Jim at 414-427-9650. The practice facility will not have information regarding postponements. Franklin Little League Clinics (Fall)Sports Leagues & ClinicsGirls Softball & Boys Baseball Basic Fundamentals ClinicGrades K5-8th The goal of this 4 week session is to provide young aspiring softball or baseball athletes with the opportunity to grow and develop in their skill set and knowledge of the game. Beyond a review of the fundamentals we will specifically focus on pitching mechanics, teaching the girls a strong warm-up and practice routine. Hitting skills will also be developed to help players build their confidence when they step up to the plate.Clinics will be taught by coaches from Franklin Youth Tournament Club (Franklin Flame softball & Franklin Crew baseball) . NOTE: Cleats are recommended but not required. Please bring a glove. Baseball Clinics for Individuals with Disabilities Boys & Girls Ages 6 - 21 years old Clinics and games for children and young adults with physical or developmental disabilities. Kids and young adults do not need to have any baseball knowledge. We welcome and encourage all children to participate, learn some baseball skills, have fun, and become part of a team and their community. Instructed by Franklin Little League Challenger Division and Franklin Youth Tournament Club coaches from Crew Baseball and Flame Softball. Her passion lies in empowering kids to become strong, confident athletes equipped with the tools and skills to succeed mentally and physically throughout their basketball journey and life. Essential Skills Clinic Elevate your game by developing the essential skills necessary to be a great basketball player! We’ll focus on improving ball handling, passing, shooting, and defensive techniques. Youth Winter Basketball LeaguesSports Leagues & ClinicsYouth Winter Basketball Leagues REGISTRATION DEADLINE FOR ALL LEAGUES: OCTOBER 13 or until spots are full. Your child will be put on a waitlist until we have more volunteer coaches. Please note: Team assignments and game schedules will be made after registration has concluded. We rely on volunteer coaches to run our leagues. Coaches will receive a 50% registration refund after the season. If we do not have enough coaches for the number of kids wanting to participate, we will close registration early. Please consider being a coach. Kindergarten & 1st Grade (Boys and Girls League) This league will be recreational and will focus on skill development and sportsmanship. No scores will be kept. The first three weeks will be a practice only where parent involvement is highly encouraged. During the remaining five weeks, teams will practice for a portion of their time and then finish with game play. During each game, referees will stop play to explain rules and fundamentals. Boys and girls will play together. Basketball hoops at Southwood Glen Elementary will have 8 foot rims. All kindergarteners must be enrolled in 5 year-old Kindergarten, not K4. Other K-1 League Information:GAME/PRACTICE DATES: Saturdays, January 10 - February 28GAME TIMES: TBD – Typically in the morning. The times will be determined once registration is complete. There are no weekly practices for this league.LOCATION: Southwood Glen Elementary School - Gym MANDATORY K-1 COACHES MEETING = December 15 (6:00 - 7:00 PM) at Franklin High School Room A113 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2nd Grade Boys & 2-3 Grade Girls Basketball League This league is designed to introduce your young athlete to the fundamentals of the game. We will do our best to keep girls and boys on separate teams, however, based on numbers, girls and boys may be combined on a team. Teams in this league will have one practice a week for 50 minutes with games on Saturdays. Other 2nd Boys & 2-3 Girls League Information: **Registration requests will be prioritized by practice day and reciprocated friend requests.**PRACTICE TIMES/LOCATION: Practice is held once a week for 50 minutes at Southwood Glen Elementary. Practices will begin the week of November 17 between the hours of 6:00 - 8:00 PM, Monday - Friday.GAME DATES/ TIMES: Saturdays, December 13 - February 28. Games are typically in the morning and times will be determined once registration is complete. GAME DATES: Saturdays, December 13 – February 28 (No games December 27, January 3, 17 and February 21)GAME TIMES: TBD – The times will be determined once registration is complete.GAME LOCATION: Forest Park Middle School - Gyms 1 & 2 & 3 Grades 3-8 will have player evaluations prior to being placed on a team to keep the teams as equal as possible. Special requests are rarely granted in this league to ensure teams are evenly matched and for kids to meet other kids in the district. Grade 3 - 8 Player Evaluations will be held on Monday, October 27 at Southwood Glen Elementary Gym from 6:00 - 8:00 PM The Player’s Evaluation will consist of athletes rotating from station to station completing a variety of different basketball drills. Players are required to attend; there is no alternate date. 3-4th grade BOYS = arrive between 6:00 - 6:30. 5-8th grade BOYS = arrive between 6:45 - 7:00. Plan on evaluations taking a half an hour. Teams will be formed off of evaluations, and rosters will be sent to coaches AFTER evaluations. Players must be registered prior to participate in the evaluation. There is no on site registration.
