Adult Kayaking Trips (Winter/Spring)Enrichment/Senior ProgramsSpring Kayaking Trips Big Muskego Lake Scenic Kayak Tours Come join the Muskego Recreation staff and our very own Conservatist guiding you on a kayaking excursion on beautiful Big Muskego Lake. Big Muskego Lake is recognized as a regionally significant natural area and an Important Bird Area. Enjoy an evening of paddling this deep-water marsh habitat via kayak to observe nesting Ospreys, eagles, pelicans, swans, potentially endangered Forster’s terns, as well as many other marsh birds and waterfowl within the upcoming summer season. This trip will require competent paddling ability. Bringbinoculars (and/or camera). Attendees are encouraged to bring their own kayak or canoe, paddles, & PFD, however these will beprovided at an additional expense, if needed. Trip will commence and end at Boxhorn Boat Launch located at S90W13976 Boxhorn Drive. Fox River Guided Tour Come join the Muskego Recreation staff on a one-way paddling trip down the Fox River. On this evening trip down the Fox River, participants will enjoy 6 miles of secluded beauty of the river starting at the Big Bend Park and traveling to Bobberz Tavern which is located right on the river at 8330 Fox River Rd, Waterford. This section is beautiful in its own right which travels through secluded prairie scenery and is just north of the Tichigan State Wildlife Area. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own kayak or canoe, paddles, & PFD, however these will be provided at an additional expense if needed. Complimentary shuttling will be available before the tripsbegins, making your vehicle available at Bobberz Tavern where we finish. The shuttle will depart promptly at 10:00 AM. If you are utilizing your own kayak, you will need to make arrangements to drop your equipment at Big Bend Park Boat Launch before the trips begins and have your vehicle at Bobberz Tavern to catch the 10:00 AM shuttle. Additional details regarding shuttle transportation and equipmentdrop off will be provided at registration. Lulu Lake Scenic Guided Kayak Tour Come join the Muskego Recreation staff on a paddle into one of Southeastern Wisconsin’s secret lakes, Lulu Lake! This lake is lovely and charming, and the trip will have a sense of adventure and exploration. We will depart on a 5-mile paddle starting at Eagle Springs Lake to find this secret lake, one that’s surrounded by public land in the Kettle Moraine State Forest and protected as a state natural area.Attendees are encouraged to bring their own kayak or canoe, paddles, & PFD, however these will be provided at an additional expense if needed. We will meet at Eagle Springs Lake public boat launch off Wambold Road, Mukwonago. Additional details of location will be provided at registration. Little Muskego Lake Social Paddle Come join the Muskego Recreation staff on an evening social paddle on Little Muskego Lake! While weenjoy the tranquility and vast space that Big Muskego Lake offers kayakers, Little Muskego Lake can alsoprovide a fantastic setting for an evening paddle. Daytime Crafting for Adults & Seniors (Winter/Spring)Enrichment/Senior ProgramsEnrich & Create: Daytime Crafting for Adults and Seniors (Co-op with Muskego) Join the talented Mary Zingsheim each month for an engaging and enjoyable crafting session. You can create something fun and useful as well as meet new crafting friends along the way! No prior experience is necessary, just bring your creativity and enthusiasm! Hot Glue Embroidery: In this session, we will use hot glue to make a pattern on an Adia cloth, then embroider a design over it using embroidery floss and a tapestry needle. (Please bring a tapestry needle and hot glue gun, if you have one.) Cardboard Heart Loom: In this session, we will make a heart shaped loom out of cardboard and then weave yarn through it to make a lovely heart wall hanging. Pool Noodle Centerpiece: In this session, we will make a beautiful spring centerpiece using a pool noodle as our base. Beaded Hanging Plant: In this session, we will make a lovely hanging plant out of beads! “Fancy Lady” Plant Holder: In this session, we will decorate a plant holder to look like a “fancylady” that you can use for an outdoor or indoor plant. Enrich & Create: Daytime Fiber Arts Classes (Winter/Spring)Enrichment/Senior ProgramsEnrich & Create: Daytime Fiber Arts for Adults and Seniors (Co-op with Muskego) What is “fiber arts?” It is any art that uses textiles (like cloth or woven fabric) as well as twisted fibers (like yarn, thread or rope. Forms of fiber art include crocheting, knitting, sewing, needlepoint, macrame, weaving, felting, embroidery, rug-making and more! Come and join a group of fellow fiber art creators! Register for one session, or register for them all! Please bring a fiber art project to work on. This can be a current project, an old project or bring something new that you have wanted to try but haven’t. I will demonstrate a different fiber art/technique each session. I will also be there to help you with your fiber art project, if I can. This gathering gives you the opportunity to make new friends, learn something new as well as discuss your current project with fellow crafters and work through any problems. Participants will work on fundamental soccer skills including dribbling, passing, shooting, and defensive techniques through engaging drills, games, and small-sided play. WaitlistFranklin Rec Summer Youth Baseball League (Winter/Spring)Sports Leagues & ClinicsFranklin Rec Summer Youth Baseball League (Coach Pitch & TBall) Boys & Girls – ages 4 through 8 It’s the time of the year to play baseball with the Franklin Recreation Department. Come and join us for our summer youth baseball leagues. These are great programs which teach the basics of baseball/softball within a fun environment. There will be two weeks of practice before games begin. Once games begin there will be one game day and one practice day per week. Registration Deadline: May 15, 2026 You are not guaranteed to be on a team if you register after the deadline. *Volunteer coaches are needed. Coaches will receive a 50% refund at the end of the season* The head coaches will notify their team once the rosters have been made with team schedules. Practices will begin the week of June 8th. Schedule TBD. Coaches meeting: Comm Ed and Rec Center - Community Room: May 27th @ 6 pm. Games will run Mondays (Tball) and Tuesdays (Coach Pitch) night from June 22 – July 28. LOCATION: Country Dale Baseball Fields ***Note: All children must bring a baseball glove each practice/game. T-Ball Boys & Girls, Ages 4-5 T-Ball is the entry level to baseball. There’s no pitching, rather the batter hits the ball off a stationary batting “T.” During T-Ball, your child will develop the primary skills of hitting, running, fielding and throwing. The players will gain an understanding of the fundamentals, which allows for minimal competitive league play. NO scores will be kept and each player will have a chance to bat each inning. PRACTICES: Start June 10 or 11 on Wednesday or Thursday evenings for 45 mins from 5:30-7:45pm depending on coaches availability. No Practice July 1st or 2nd. GAMES: Mondays, June 22nd – July 27th TIME: 5:15-6pm or 6:15-7pm. *Games last 50 minutes. Schedule will be set once registration closes. Coach Pitch Boys & Girls, Ages 6-8 Coach Pitch allows the coaches to pitch to their team based on each player’s needs. Coaches will modify their speed and distance depending on the ability of the players. The purpose of the league will be to continue teaching the players about baseball concepts and work on improvement of basic skills, including hitting, throwing, catching and fielding the ball.
