APA Winter/Spring: 6 Week Mini Sessions

Group Glee Pop Choir (Ages 6 - 10)

This is a beginner show choir class in which students will learn to sing and perform together with simple choreography.  Students will choose two songs per semester to perform at APA’s music recitals.  Each week students will work on basic singing techniques, while learning performance skills that will help them build the necessary confidence needed to perform together for a live audience.  Throughout the year, students will gain team-building and leadership skills, while making fun social connections.

Group Drama Jr (Ages 6 - 10)

In this exciting and interactive class, young actors will embark on a journey of creativity, imagination, and self-expression. Through a variety of fun games, improvisation exercises, and scene work, children will learn the fundamentals of acting while building confidence, communication skills, and teamwork. Whether they dream of being on stage or simply love to play pretend, this class offers a safe and supportive environment for children to explore the magic of acting and unleash their inner performer!

Session 1: Puppet Play: Bringing Characters to Life – Create and perform short scenes    with puppets while learning voice control, movement, and storytelling.

Session 2: Curtain Up: Acting & Imagination – Bring stories to life through character work, improvisation, and creative play. Learn how to use movement, voice, and expression to create dynamic performances.

Session 3: Behind the Scenes–Explore the magic of theatre beyond the stage! Dive into costumes, props, set design, and special effects to see how a show comes together.

Group Musical Theatre Jr (Ages 6 - 11)

Combining acting and music elements with a touch of choreography, students will learn and sing show tunes, learn choreography, & make new friends! Students will learn a variety of warm ups, games, and explore scenes and songs from the different eras of Musical Theater.  

Session 1: Wicked Act 2 – Continue the magic of Wicked as we explore the unforgettable songs and characters from the second act of this Broadway hit! Perfect for fans of Elphaba, Glinda, and the world of Oz.

Session 2: Frozen: The Broadway Experience – Let it go and bring Frozen to life! This session features Broadway-style songs and choreography inspired by Anna, Elsa, and the magic of Arendelle.

Session 3: Moana: Wayfinder’s Journey – Set sail on an adventure with Moana! Sing, dance, and embrace the spirit of exploration with music from this beloved Disney hit.
