September - Granny Square Crochet

Granny Squares aren’t just for grannies anymore! If you know basic crochet stitches, you can learn the granny square. Once you learn how to make one square, you’ll want to make more! You can turn your squares into an afghan, purse or bag, a shawl, a pillow, a potholder… the
possibilities are endless!

*Please bring a hook (size H/8 or I/9 or J/10) and a skein of acrylic yarn,
any solid or variegated color. Yarn weight: size 4. (And please DO NOT
buy the specialty granny square yarn for this class, as it is difficult for
beginners to use.)

October - Punch Needle Art

Do you enjoy embroidery, diamond art or cross-stitch? If so, you will enjoyPunch Needle Art. It is a fiber art technique that uses a special tool, called a punch needle, to create loops through a piece of fabric that is stretched taut in a hoop or frame. The punch needle works by pushing yarn through a tube with a narrow point at the end. The finished work has a textured surface on one side with a smooth design on the other. Punch needle crafting is relaxing and a relatively quick way to create a work of art. *All materials will be provided.

November - Water Color Techniques

So many people say to me “I am not an artist. I am not creative.” Everyone is an artist if they want to be! In this one-night class, you will
explore different watercolor techniques: using color gradient washes, wet-on-wet, wet-on-dry, salt texturing, masking and the water resist effect. You do not need to have any experience using watercolors to take this class. It is a night to come relax, have fun and explore watercolor paints in different ways. I promise, this will be a low risk, low key atmosphere… beginners
(and all other abilities) are welcome!   *All materials will be provided.
